May we ask this key prayer request of you? Last year we solidified the plans by renting a large and extremely convenient conference center in Lusaka, Zambia. It was perfect for our needs, especially in the areas of movement of people, feeding the ladies, and most of all having the ‘translation devices' needed which would accommodate the ladies coming from the other countries, speaking different languages. However, this past December we received word from the Committee that they had been asked to pick up the deposit placed on this conference center, as we have been cancelled. The reason: ‘they do not want the Pentecostal noise in the center' as it will now disturb other conferences that have been recently been booked. This has of course impacted a significant amount of our plans. Please pray for God's directions as we embark on new plans. The ladies have already found another place, however it comes with many, many challenges and will be less accommodating for the needs that we have with such a complex ‘multi language' conference. Please note - this will be the first time ever that women gather in this type of setting for the reason of being released and empowered into the call God has on their lives - in Africa. We recognize there will be many facets of opposition, and are continuing on in faith - knowing that God has placed this in our hearts and He is with us! Many blessings to you all - and thank you for your prayer support! |
In my newsletter I explained that God placed in my heart, six years ago, the desire to conduct an empowering
conference for women in leadership in Africa. I have been pursuing this for
the past two years,
and last year made some concrete plans towards it. The women in Africa
are excited and anticipating this upcoming conference in August 2008. In fact, I have a working
committee of 18 ladies in Zambia
who are on the ground ready to implement plans as we embark on bringing in
women in leadership from 10 other countries.
