Thailand Missions Report

Thailand Missions Team 2009Words cannot express all that we observed as God moved on the hearts of His women in Thailand. Our ministry times started off with such heaviness, as the women arrived carrying great burdens, coming from hard lives, difficult working and living conditions, stressful situations; and yet they endeavoured to travel from the very far corners, from the mountains of Laos, from the east, west, north and south of Thailand to this National Conference.

The retreat centre only sleeps 400, and the highest expectation was to have at least 250 women participate, yet the total registrations rose to 430.  Suffice it to say, in this extremely Buddhist culture, such numbers speak volumes of their hunger for God.

This is a great hour in the nation of Thailand, as God is raising up these Women of Zion in this ungodly nation. As the conference began, we saw the heaviness broken, and the women who came downcast began lifting their heads up to their Saviour; we saw joy replace sadness and heard laughter echoed throughout the place as the feelings of depression and despondency dissipated.

Thai Women's Conference - Incredible breakthrough time at altar

Pastor Barbara Kallevig's powerful teachings were received with hungry hearts. They wrote down every word and soaked it up into their spirits as they were preparing to go out and live out what they received.

Pastor Pat Russell warmed herself into their hearts as she sang like an angel. The ladies just enjoyed having her sing over their spirits.

As I ministered in the different sessions, broken lives were rebuilt, and hopeless hearts gravitated again to the hope of their salvation. Women stayed on their faces before the Lord. In one of the services, the altar time was so powerful that they sat for great lengths just repenting before the Lord of all the anger and resentments as they sought God's help for the very discouraging things that have burdened them and rendered them so bitter.

Then, a mighty shift happened and spontaneously, they began lifting their hands in praise and shouting unto the Lord. Some were dancing, some singing, some praising, everyone lifted their heads and hearts to God in their own way - and as Psalm 24 promises, the most marvellous breakthroughs came into their spirits. What a faithful God!  What a loving God! What a friend to the hurting, the helpless and the hopeless!

As we continued on to minister in other settings in Thailand, God's power was the same wherever we went.  There is a great receptiveness to the Word of God and as the love of God is demonstrated to the Thai people - God is raising up a young generation who will cross all boundaries to extend His Word to a sin-sick nation.

Foundations Ministries in ThailandOur thanks to missionaries Peter and Pat Dewit for their faithfulness to the people of Thailand for these many years.  Thank you also for sharing the Thailand journey with us.  As you prayed for us, we could truly sense it, and your prayers accomplished great and mighty things for His glory.

" Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness". (Psalm 115:1)

Thank you for partnering in missions,

Rev Marie Miller
