Southern Africa Women's Conference - August 20-23, 2008

In 2001, God burned a vision in the heart of Rev. Marie Miller, to bring together the women of Southern Africa and empower them with His Word.  Since it was declared to them that year, the women of Zambia have incubated the vision and are now ready to give birth to it.  The excitement among the women is contagious and has already sparked great results.  It is truly a God-given, God-driven vision for such a time as this.

"Your widows can trust me too!" (Jeremiah 49:11)

"Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need." (1 Timothy 5:3)

The Bible exhorts us to take care of the orphans and the widows! Yet while much is being done through various organizations for the orphans, very little is being done for the mothers of Africa, who can turn build up and reach out to the widows in their midst.

"The mother of seven grows faint and gasps for breath; her sun has gone down while it is still day..." (Jeremiah 15:9a)

Women Arise is a multifaceted conference geared for the development of women of Southern Africa, and in particular the women in leadership.  Its goal is to encourage and empower the women of Southern Africa and assist them to network together by sharing successful strategies that will impact their nations in the future.

Conference Goals

Leadership Development

• Encourage women to develop ministries that will reach the need of their country (i.e. ministries to widows, orphans, victims of rape, molestation, etc.)
• Applauding and highlighting the grassroots ministries that have been accomplished by African women in their country
• Strengthening the works and ministries that the Christian women are attempting

Networking and Mentorship

• Transcending the borders by bringing together women from bordering African countries
• Providing a forum to share their successes and sorrows and to empower each other
• Linking the African women in leadership with North American women in leadership

Spiritual Equipping

• Facilitating seminars to equip and empower women in the Word of God
• Training and releasing women in Christian leadership strategies.
